Posted on 16-07-2009 | Report by: Vincent Sequeira
![]() A seminar on liturgy was conducted for a full day on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at the church hall for the members of Parish Gowlik Parishad and representatives of various wards. The programme started soon after the 8.00 AM mass with a reading from the Gospel and reflection by Smt. Victoria cardoza. Sri Vincent Sequeira, Vice President of Parish Govlik Parishad welcomed the guests and participants. ![]() Fr. Stany Rodrigues, Parish Priest, presided over the programme. He in his address said that he always wanted to have this type of a programme for the benefit of the Parishoners and appreciated the efforts taken by the Liturgical committee in organizing it. ![]() Fr.Bonifas Pinto, Director of Mangalajyothi, the resource person, gave in-depth training on importance of holy mass and meaning of each step of the holy mass. He brought home the message to all concerned that Holy Mass is not an individual offering by the Priest alone, but it is a collective participation of each and every devotee of the Parish. He stressed further that it is "Our Mass" and hence each of us are the part of it. He then gave practical tips on readings and offerings. The delivery of the dialogues by Fr. Pinto made each member feel that they are a part of the seminar and it was not boring for even a split of a second. The entire lecture was presented with a coating of humour and hence was well received by the participants. In the afternoon session, he made the participants to sit in wardwise groups and asked to prepare the liturgy of a Holy mass in each group independantly. Nithyadar ward group members presented their liturgy before all the participants from different wards. Fr. Bonifas Pinto gave his comments on every step of the presentation for improving the quality of such presentations. He later suggested the participants to constitute wardwise liturgical committees and prepare liturgy of respective wards for three months well in advance. The entire programme was compered by Mr. Denis D’mello, Co-ordinator of the Liturgical Committee of the Parish. Sri Victor D'Souza extended vote of thanks. Breakfast, dinner and evening tea was served to all the participants by the Organising Committee. Go Back Comments
