The ward members of St. Anna ward, Nekkare arranged a get-together on behalf of Christmas on 17th December 2010 at 3.30pm at Mr. Peter Sequeira's house. The programme began with the celebration of holy mass by the Parish Priest Fr. Harold Periera. After the mass ward Gurkarn Smt. Dorin Sequeira gave a brief introduction on Christmas.
Parish Priest Fr. Harold Periera along with Gurkarn Smt. Dorin Sequeira and representatives of the ward cut the Christmas cake. Secretary of the ward presented report of the ward. Then there were dances for the entertainment of the crowd. Then ward members presented a skit on Christmas theme. This was followed by a Bible quiz and games. Smt. Dorin Sequeira is honoured for becoming the President of Womens Association, Moodbidri Deanery. Mr. Lawrence sequeira is honoured for serving the ward as Gurkar for 10 years. Then Fr. Harold Periera distributed prizes for the winners of games and quiz competition. Vice president of Parish Pastoral Parishad Mr. Vincent Sequeira in his brief message congratulated the Gurkarn and ward members for organizing the Christmas programme meaningfully. He said that this is the first ward to organize Christmas programme in Paladka Parish. Fr. Harold Periera Parish Priest said that he is happy to see many non catholics participating in this Christmas celebration. Superior of St. Ignatius Convent, Paladka, Secretary of Parish Pastoral Parishad Mr. Denis D'mello, Mr. Victor D'souza, gurkar of St. Peter ward, Mr. Raymond Sequeira, gurkar of St. Ignatius ward and Mr. Alwyn D'souza, gurkar of St. Paul ward were also present for the programme. Kuswar was distributed to all.
